EXCLUSIVE: Shooting starts April 15 in Warsaw on Kristoffer Rus’ Polish-Swedish co-production The Big Leap.

The film will shoot at the newly opened ATM Studio in Warsaw.

The cast features Tilly Scott Pedersen (Dark Horse), Gustaf Skarsgård (The Way Back) and Arkadiusz Jakubik (The Wedding).

The short film is a black comedy “about moral dilemmas in the time of global financial crisis”. Three people meet on a rooftop to commit suicide — each with a different idea about the afterlife.

It will be shot on greenscreen and animated using CGI, marking one of the most ambitious projects of its type undertaken in Poland.

ATM FX will handle special effects. “It’s for sure the biggest enterprise that we ever decided to take part in,” said Filip Kaczorek, Visual Effects Supervisor, ATM FX.

Rus [pictured] is a graduate of  the Film School in Stockholm and Wajda School in Warsaw; his previous shorts include Apple Tree and Street Feeling.

Rus is also planning his feature debut Masakra profana.

Prasa & Film (All That I Love) is producing, with co-producers East of West Cinema AB, Sweden, Telewizja Polska, ATM FX and ATM Studio, WFDiF. Finance comes from the Polish Film Institute and Swedish Film Institute.

Poland-based New Europe Film Sales represents world rights.
