‘ROMA’

ROMA won best film, foreign language film, and director and cinematographer for Alfonso Cuarón at the 24th annual Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (13).

Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born) tied with last weekend’s Golden Globe winner Glenn Close (The Wife) for the actress prize, and Christian Bale followed up his Globes success with best actor and best comedy actor wins for Vice. Olivia Colman, another Globe winner last weekend, was named best comedy actress for The Favourite.

In the television categories, The Americans won best drama series and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel earned a best comedy series win. Bill Hader was named best actor in a comedy series for Barry, and Thandie Newton best supporting actress in a drama series for Westworld.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Americans each won three awards. As previously announced, Best Supporting Actress nominee Claire Foy received the Critics’ Choice #SeeHer Award, Chuck Lorre earned the Critics’ Choice Creative Achievement Award.

Critics’ Choice Awards are handed out annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association to honour film and television.
