Saban Films announced at AFM it has acquired North American rights to Daniel Radcliffe comedic sci-fi thriller and recent Toronto world premiere Guns Akimbo.
Jason Lei Howden wrote and directed the film about a nerdy video game developer who participates in an illegal, live-streamed death match.
Samara Weaving, Rhys Darby, Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ned Dennehy round out the key cast, and Occupant Entertainment’s Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino produced with Four Knights Film’s Tom Hern.
Altitude Film Sales handles international rights and Endeavor Content represented US rights. Bill Bromiley and Jonathan Saba negotiated the deal for Saban Films along with Altitude on behalf of the filmmakers.
Saban Films’ distribution slate includes Kevin Smith’s Jay And Silent Bob Reboot, Line Of Duty, Death Of Me, and Friendsgiving.
