Director Ben Affleck, along with Alan Arkin and John Goodman, will be in attendance at the festival, which runs Sept 21-29.

San Sebastián International Film Festival have announced that Ben Affleck’s thriller Argo will be screened out of competition in the festival’s official selection at their upcoming 60th edition, which runs Sept 21-29.

Argo is Affleck’s third film as director and is based on real events that happened during the 1979 Iranian revolution when 52 American citizens were taken hostage, six of whom managed to escape and take refuge at the Canadian ambassador’s home. Affleck also produced the film, along with George Clooney and Grant Heslov, as well as starring in it with the likes of John Goodman and Alan Arkin.

Affleck, Goodman and Arkin will be in attendance at the film’s screening.

Argo receives its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival and goes on general release in Spain on October 26. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.
