Brian O’Shea’s The Exchange has come on board to handle worldwide sales at AFM 2020 Online on the coming-of-age dramedy Gringa.

22 Jump Street creator-writer Patrick Hasburgh wrote the original screenplay about an American teenager who travels to a rural beach town in Mexico to find her estranged father, a faded soccer star turned fútbol coach.

EJ Foerster, a second unit director on the Twilight franchise and The Greatest Showman, directs feature and also produces with Eric Hedayat and Marny Eng. Hedayat has production credits on Netflix smash Extraction, and Skyscraper, among others.

Gringa stars Jess Gabor (Shameless), Judy Greer (Halloween, Ant-Man And The Wasp), Steve Zahn (Dallas Bueyrs Club), Jorge A. Jimenez (Narcos, Machete Kills) and Roselyn Sanchez (Act Of Valor, Rush Hour 2). The project is in post.

The Exchange’s market line-up includes Liev Schreiber’s Across The River And Into The Trees, Noomi Rapace’s The Thicket, Kumail Nanjiani’s The Independent, Zoe Saldana’s Keyhole Garden, Drew Barrymore’s The Stand-In, and Sundance and Berlin documentary Welcome To Chechnya.
