Momentum has acquired UK rights to Toronto buzz title Wasted On The Young from Fortissimo.

The deal was brokered by Fortissimo EVP, international sales, Nicole Mackey and Momentum’s SVP, worldwide acquisitions Robert Walak and acquisitions manager Henry Beattie.

Wasted On The Youngtells the story of a traumatic incident at a high school party that sets off a fatal chain of events. Directed by first time filmmaker Ben C Lucas, the thriller stars Oliver Ackland (The Proposition), Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Mad Max: Fury Road) and Alex Russell (Wheeler Boys).

After the film’s Toronto world premiere UTA signed actor Ackland and CAA signed Lucas.

On making the announcement, Mackey said: “We are thrilled to be working with Momentum again and know that they’ll have fun with it and be able to maximise every drop of conventional and viral marketing potential from this slick, contemporary Aussie film.”
