Winners will get to meet BBC Films and have a lunch with Peter Morgan.
European development and training outfit The Script Factory has launched its third-annual script development scheme.
The selected screenwriter or screenwriting partnership will be given a bursary of $1500 (£1,000) along with the chance to take part in a year-long development process and free attendance on Script Factory training programmes for a year.
Winners will also get the chance to attend a development meeting with BBC Films executive Joe Oppenheimer, and a lunch with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Peter Morgan in London, at the end of the year.
Potential applicants are being asked to send a two-page outline of a film idea, plus either the first 10 pages of the script or a completed draft. The deadline for submissions is Aug 31.
Script Factory co-director Briony Hanson said: “Now in its third year, The Script Factory’s Development Scheme is a script call with a difference, giving writers the twin benefit of excellent development support, as well as access to key industry players. We’re delighted to be increase the benefits of the scheme this year by offering our first bursary award of £1,000 “.
