The Secret Of Kells and Lost And Found scoop top film awards at British Animation Awards

Tomm Moore’s Oscar nominated The Secret of Kells was named Best European Feature at the 8th British Animation Awards held at the BFI Southbank in London (8th April).

The Best Animated Special Award went to Philip Hunt’s  Lost and Found, which was produced by Studio A.K.A, whilst Aardman Animations picked up the Children’s Choice Award for Nick Park’s A Matter Of Loaf And Death.

British animator Stephen Irwin was also a double winner, collecting the best short and best sound awards for his film The Black Dog’s Progress.

In the Public Choice category, the Favourite Short Film was awarded to This Way Up, directed by Smith & Foulkes for Nexus Productions.

“British Animation is bursting with, talent ideas and creativity,” said BAA director Jayne Pilling.  “We would like to congratulate the winners and all those who were nominated for making the judging so incredibly difficult!”
