The US premiere of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Baaria and Marco Bellocchio’s Vincere bookend the Cinema Italian Style 2009 showcase that runs from November 10-18 in Los Angeles.

Baaria, Italy’s Academy Awards foreign language submission, is presented by Cinecitta’ Luce and the American Cinematheque in collaboration with the Italian Film Commission with the support of the Department Of Cinema of the Italian Ministry Of Culture, the Italian Consulate and the Italian Cultural Institute.

Screenings this year include Michele Placido’s Il Grande Sogno (The Big Dream), Giuseppe Piccioni’s Giulia Non Esce La Sera (Giulia Doesn’t Date At Night), Edoardo Winspeare’s I Galantuomini (The Brave Men), Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love, and Francesca Archibugi’s Questione Di Cuore (Matter Of The Heart).

Two documentaries will also screen: Vittorio D. by Mario Canale and Hollywood On The Tiber by Marco Spagnoli.
