Organisers of next year’s 30th anniversary of the Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) will count down with a 29-day retrospective commencing on Jan 26 2013 with a screening of Pedro Almodóvar’s Dark Habits (Entre Tinieblas).

The showcase will present one film a day until the festival proper kicks off on Mar 1. Films include Babette’s Feast, Toto The Hero, Blood Simple and Audition.

David Frankel, best known for his film The Devil Wears Prada, will take part in a Q&A following a screening of his 1995 film Miami Rhapsody.

“I love milestones,” said MIFF executive director Jaie Laplante. “What a treat it has been to look through our back catalogues, reliving the excitement of MIFF’s great moments, and recharting the growth from the early triumphs of our founding fathers to the new era of our modern festival with a firmly established reputation as a key launch pad for Ibero-American and international films in the United States.”

The 2013 MIFF is set to run from Mar 1-10.
