The Montreal World Film Festival (MWFF) has announced the complete line-up of its 33rd edition, including twenty features in each of its keystone World Competition and First Films World Competition.

Among the titles competing in the World programme are Montreal habitué Claude and Nathan Miller’s I’m Glad That My Mother is Alive, German filmmaker Lancelot Von Naso’s Ceasefire, Forever Waiting by Spain’s Francisco Avizanda and St. George Shoots The Dragon by Serbia’s Srdjan Dragojevic. Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Amiryoussefi presents Fire Keeper while Switzerland’s Séverine Cornamusaz has Animal Heart .

From Japan, Kichitaro Negishi will compete with Villon’s Wife while China’s Quan’an Wang has Weaving Girl. Danish filmmaker Morton Giese brings Love And Rage, Swiss filmmaker Micha Lewinsky has Will You Marry Us? and Polish film-maker Mariusz Grzegorzek has I Am Yours.

Among the First Films World Competition are Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay! by US filmmaker Evgeny Afineevsky and The Childhood Of Icarus by Alexandre Lordachescu, a Romania-France co-production notable for the last screen appearance of Guillaume Depardieu.

MWFF, which runs August 27 - September 7, will present 240 features from 78 countries.
