The event, officially called Fusion: the Los Angeles LGBT People Of Color Film Festival, will open on Mar 22 and honours filmmaker Patrik-Ian Polk.

Fusion top brass will also showcase the first work of OutSet: The Young Filmmakers Project from LifeWorks and Outfest, designed to empower and educate LGBT youth through storytelling.

“Patrik-Ian Polk is an incredible visionary, breaking new ground in his depictions of LGBT characters whose stories are unique, yet universal,” Outfest executive director Kirsten Schaffer said.

The event will run from Mar 22-24 at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood and will include features, shorts, workshops and panels.
