Peter Weir, Amitabh Bachchan, Roger Christian, Elvis Mitchell and Klaus Eder to attend Polish festival.

Off Camera Plus (April 8-17), the Krakow-based festival which offers a $100,000 dollar prize to a first or second time director, for its fourth edition is adding a FIPRESCI prize and a competition for Best Polish Feature, organisers announced at this year’s Berlinale.

FIPRESCI General Secretary Klaus Eder will head a three-member FIPRESCI jury, while the festival is in negotiations with high profile candidates to sit on the six-member jury. Critic Elvis Mitchell is confirmed.

Peter Weir will attend the festival for the opening night screening of The Way Back, an event the Polish president is expected to be at, while Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and Oscar winning designer-director Roger Christian are also due to attend.

Previous winners of the $100,000 Krakow Film Award include rising stars Azazel Jacobs (Momma’s Man, Terri) and Sebastian Silva (La Nana, Old Cats).

The Polish Film Institute provides a $330,000 grant to the winner of the Krakow Film Award if they make their next film in Poland.

The jury and competition films will be announced in early March.
