Seventy films will screen during the Riviera Maya Film Festival, set to run in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel and Holbox from Mar 20-25.

Gala screenings include Gustavo Taretto’s Argentina-set drama Medianeras (Sidewalls), Mary Harron’s Gothic horror The Moth Diaries and Johnnie To’s crime drama Life Without Principle.

The festival’s industry component Rivieralab / For De Coproduccion will run in Quintana Roo from Mar 22-25 and will host 158 projects from Latin America and Europe.

These include Alba from Ecuador, Tormentero and Pozoamargo from Mexico, Rey from France-Chile, Nueva España from the Philippines and El Tiempo Nublado from Switzerland-Paraguay.

The market will showcase ten projects to financiers, fund representatives, producers and sales agents. Three will each receive 200,000 pesos in funding, which equates to approximately $15,500.

Eight international works in progress at post-production stage from a pool of 40 will be selected to receive support.
