The Ed Norton and Robert De Niro thriller Stone will open the 46th Chicago International Film Festival on October 7.

John Curran’s film also stars Milla Jovovich and Frances Conroy in the story of a parole officer and a younger scheming inmate whose paths cross.

Festival founder and Artistic Director Michael Kutza said: “De Niro pulls in his best performance in a decade. Norton and Conroy’s performances are fantastic and Milla Jovovich offers a captivating breakthrough performance – the entire ensemble is at the top of their game.”

Stone will open in North America later this year through Relativity Media-owned Overture Films. Nu Image handles international sales.
