The Luc Besson-produced Lockout will receive its world premiere at the genre festival, which runs April 5-17.

James McTeigue’s thriller The Raven will open the 30th edition of the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) on April 5.

This year’s festival will host over ten premieres, including the world premiere of action sci-fi Lockout, produced by Luc Besson and starring Guy Pearce. The highly-anticipated horror The Cabin In The Woods, co-written by fan favourites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard, closes the festival on April 17.

Other films screening at this year’s festival include the first ever Taiwanese zombie film Zombie 108, 3D animation Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Indian sci-fi Ra.One and anime Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Deep Below.

As previously announced, director William Friedkin will be receive one of the festival’s top honours, Knight of the Order of the Raven, and will also be on hand to present his latest film Killer Joe. British genre actress Barbara Steele will also be made a Knight of the Order of the Raven at this year’s edition.

Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia, Hong Kong director, actor and choreographer Tony Ching and Italian duo Antonio and Marco Manetti are among the other guests attending the 30th BIFFF.

Events taking place at the festival include masterclasses from Lloyd Kaufman (April 10) and Jean-Michel Roux (April 12).
