Christian Slater stars in horror sci-fi Stranded and Vinnie Jones takes on the lead role in comedy Flight Redirected.
Christian Slater plays one of four astronauts on board a bio-dome space craft, who experience a ghostly intercession after a meteor storm, leading to paranoia, fear and death. Brendan Fehr, Michael Therriault and Amy Matysio also star. Shooting for Stranded is now underway in Canada with Roger Christian directing from a screenplay by Christian Piers Betley. Canada’s Minds Eye Entertainment and the UK’s Moving Pictures Media are jointly producing. Cinemavault has acquired worldwide rights with eOnedistributing in Canada and Image Entertainment will release the film in the US.
Shooting has also just started on Emilis Velyvis’ comedy Flight Redirected about, which centres on four friends-turned-robbers who get stranded in Eastern Europe. Vinnie Jones stars alongside Scot Williams, Gil Darnell, Anthony Strachan and Artur Smolyaninov. Lithuania’s Kino Kultas and Meed Films are co-producing with the UK’s Wellington Films. Financing also came from the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture. A release is planned for February 2014.
