Indian production house T-Series is teaming with Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures and Friday Filmworks to co-produce a project directed by Neeraj Pandey and starring Akshay Kumar.
The as-yet-untitled action thriller reunites Pandey and Kumar following their 2013 hit Special 26. Their second project is currently in production and is shooting across several foreign locations. Release is scheduled for January 23, 2015.
Gulshan Kumar’s T-Series is a leading Indian music company as well as production house, while Friday Filmworks was founded by Pandey and producer Shital Bhatia.
Crouching Tiger Motion Pictures is a joint venture between producer Rajnish Khanuja and Abundantia Entertainment, founded by former Viacom18 Motion Pictures COO Vikram Malhotra.
Pandey’s first feature was the critically acclaimed terrorist thriller A Wednesday in 2008, which he followed with crime drama Special 26, starring Kumar, Kajal Agarwal and Manoj Bajpayee, in 2013.
