Bleiberg Entertainment will self-distribute the Holocaust drama Adam Resurrected in New York and Los Angeles for an Academy Awards qualifying run in December.
Adam Resurrected premiered at Telluride and Toronto recently and will screen at the AFI FEST 2008 on November 8 and 9.
Jeff Goldblum stars as a survivor who ends up in a rehabilitation facility where a chance encounter gives him a chance to find peace. Paul Schrader directed from Noah Stollman's adaptation of Yoram Kaniuk's novel and Willem Dafoe, Derek Jacobi and Ayelet Zurer also star.
Ehud Bleiberg and Werner Wirsing produced and Ulf Israel and Marion Forster-Bleiberg served as executive producers.
'Adam Resurrected has long been a passion project for Werner Wirsing and I, and it was incredibly important for us to release this film in theatres for awards consideration,' Bleiberg said. 'Paul Schrader and Noah Stollman tackled a very complex story about survival and psychological healing, and Jeff Goldblum's raw performance will truly blow audiences away.'
