Film
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (Sony)
UK filming locations: North East England, North West England, Scotland, Yorkshire
US/UK release date: January 16
Nia DaCosta directs from a screenplay by Alex Garland who produces with Danny Boyle and DNA Films’ Andrew Macdonald – the three mainstays of the franchise that began in 2002 with 28 Days Later. Original star Cillian Murphy is also on board as executive producer, and 28 Years Later stars Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell return.
The Death of Robin Hood (A24)

US/UK release date: 2026 TBC
Thriller The Death of Robin Hood is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski with a cast led by Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer. In this version of the outlaw story, Hood is a battle-worn loner grappling with his past life of crime and murder who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman offering him a chance at salvation.
The Magic Faraway Tree (Studiocanal)
UK filming locations: Shadowbox Studios Shinfield, South East England
UK release date: March 27
Ben Gregor directs this adaptation of the beloved Enid Blyton children’s book from a screenplay by Wonka and Paddington 2 co-writer Simon Farnaby. Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy and Nicola Coughlan star in the story of a modern family that relocates to the countryside where the children discover a magical tree that helps the family reconnect.
Masters of the Universe (Amazon MGM)
UK filming locations: Sky Studios Elstree, South East England, London, South West England
US/UK release date: June 5
Based on the cartoon and billed as a fresh take on the Prince Adam/He-Man’s story, Travis Knight (Bumblebee) directs Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, Jared Leto and Idris Elba in the story of the young prince who has to defend his kingdom from evil, armed with a magical sword. BFC support included a UK stage space recce, UK-wide location search and support with UK crewing.
The Odyssey (Universal)
UK filming locations: Scotland
US/UK release date: July 17
Christopher Nolan’s takes on the story of Greek king Odysseus’s long return home to Ithaca after fighting in the 10-year Trojan War. Matt Damon stars as Odysseus and Tom Holland as his son alongside Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, John Leguizamo, Samantha Morton and Mia Goth. The BFC assisted with location troubleshooting and specialised supplier support.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (Netflix)
UK filming locations: Digbeth Loc. Studios, North West England, Midlands, North Wales
US/UK streaming date: March 20
Directed by Tom Harper, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man follows on from the hit TV series starring Cillian Murphy as gang leader Tommy Shelby. Written and co-produced by series creator Stephen Knight, the feature is set in 1940 and sees Shelby return from exile to face his demons and confront his legacy.
Practical Magic 2 (Warner Bros)
UK filming locations: Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, South East England
US/UK release date: September 18
Susanne Bier’s Practical Magic, the sequel to the 1998 fantasy comedy about two witch sisters raised by their eccentric aunts in a small town after the death of their parents. Based on Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel The Book Of Magic, the new film sees sees the return of stars Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, who are joined by Joey King.

Project Hail Mary (Amazon MGM)

US/UK release date: March 20
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling as a stranded astronaut tasked with saving the world, is an adaptation of the popular 2021 science fiction novel by Andy Weir, author of ‘The Martian’. Producers are Amy Pascal with Lord, Miller and Aditya Sood.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (Marvel)
UK filming location: Pinewood Studios, London, South East England, Scotland
US/UK release date: July 31
Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day sees Tom Holland reprise the Spidey role, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing. This is the second Spider-Man film to shoot in the UK, following 2019’s Far From Home, and Amy Pascal produces alongside Marvel president Kevin Feig.
Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow (Warner Bros/DC)
UK filming locations: Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, South East England, Scotland
US/UK release date: June 26
DC’s upcoming superhero film sees Milly Alcock stars as the eponymous hero in an origin story following her journey before travelling to Earth. The Warner Bros film is the second title in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe, following this year’s Superman.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO)
UK filming locations: Titanic Studios, Northern Ireland
Broadcast date: Jan 18
Set a century before the events of Game of Thrones, the show is an adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s novella The Hedge Knight and details the exploits of a young knight and his diminutive squire. Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell star as the central duo. The BFC provided support with locations and via their partnership with industry mental health support organisation Solas Mind.
A Thousand Blows Season 2 (Disney+)
UK filming locations: Storyworks Studios, London, South East England
Broadcast date: January 9
Steven Knight’s second season of A Thousand Blows for Disney+ returns to 1880s East End London of the first season and its’ band of female criminals, a pair of best friends newly emigrated from Jamaica and a dangerous gangster played by Stephen Graham.
Industry Season 4 (HBO)
UK filming locations: Wolf Studios, Wales
Broadcast date: 2026 TBC
Created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay and made by HBO and Bad Wolf, the fourth season of the London City set drama follows the financial hotshots in their chase for money, power, and the determination to be top dog.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 (Amazon MGM)

Jumping forward several years from the events of the second season, the latest takes place at the height of the war between the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to conquer all Middle-earth. Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo and Daniel Weyman star.
Outlander Season 8 (Sony/Starz)

The final season of the long-running time-shift drama incorporates storylines from Diana Gabaldon’s book Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan star.
Rivals Season 2 (Disney+)

Adapting the second half of Jilly Cooper’s novel, the second season of the hit show will pick up from the first series cliffhanger to examine the power struggles within 1980s British television. Returning stars include David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner, Danny Dyer and Katherine Parkinson all return.
Silo Season 3 (Apple TV+)

The third season of the sci-fi series starring Rebecca Ferguson is largely based on the second book in Hugh Howey’s trilogy Shift but will blend elements with the final book, Dust, adapting the prequel story of the silos’ origins and connecting it to the present timeline.
Slow Horses Season 6 (Apple TV+)

This sixth season of the smash hit series produced by See Saw Films follows the story of disgraced MI5 agents, conspiracy and political shenanigans, adapting Mick Herron’s novels Joe Country and Slough House. Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden and Kirstin Scott Thomas return.
Young Sherlock (Amazon MGM)

Directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, who previously helmed the Sherlock Holmes films starring Robert Downey Jr., the series is an adaptation of the Young Sherlock Holmes novels by Andy Lane. Hero Fiennes Tiffin stars as the titular detective.
