French major Gaumont has concluded its acquisition of animation house Alphanim.

Alphanim was founded by Christian Davin in 1997 and is one of France'sleading animation producers.

The company delivered more than 45 hours of programming in 2007 including hits Robotboy, Galactik Football, Toufu Tounu and the feature Franklin & Le Tresor Du Lac which is to be followed up by the feature Secret d'Eleonore. Other film projects are currently in development.

Alphanim expects revenues for 2007 to reach $32.5m and will be consolidated into Gaumont's accounts beginning December 21, 2007.

The acquisition was financed by a bank loan of $35.5m from BNP Paribas and Natexis.

The move marks a return to television for Gaumont which sold off its TV division in 1999.
