London-based production outfits Aria Films and Full Circle films are partnering with Axis3D to shoot a new UK thriller using new 3D technology.

The Mortician will combine genres of urban noir, contemporary fairytale and psychological thriller to tell the story of one alienated man in a decaying metropolis who is forced to form emotional links when he finds a scared child leaving his morgue.

Gareth Maxwell Roberts of Full Circle wrote the script and will direct. Aria's Carlo Dusi will produce. The pair also worked together on Roberts' feature debut Kill Kill Faster Faster starring Gil Bellows and Lisa Ray.

New York-based Eva Battaglia is casting now. The shoot is set to start in the first quarter of 2009.

Axis3D will provide all of the equipment required for shooting the project in 3D. Under the supervision of experienced colourist, Victor Riva, all post production for the feature will be completed using the Axis3D suite situated at Concrete in London. The film will be delivered in 2D and 3D.

Tim Reynolds, from Axis3D, said: 'It's great to work with a production company that understands the 3D stereoscopic process and are as enthusiastic about its creative possibilities. Axis3D will create everything in 3D from providing camera equipment to working with Concrete on vfx, convergence edits and up to 4K grades.'
