Joshua A. Berger has been promoted to president and managing director of Warner Bros Entertainment UK and Ireland (WBEUK) after 17 years at the studio.

Berger previously served as executive vice president and managing director and will continue to report to Barry Meyer, chairman and chief executive officer, Alan Horn, president and chief operating officer and Richard Fox, executive vice president, international, Warner Bros. He will oversee all aspects of WBEUK and explore any new business opportunities.

Berger first joined the studio in 1989 as a sales executive for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution in Paris. He then served as managing director for Spain and Portugal and then relocated to London as vice president of business development and pay television for Europe.

During his tenure, the company has enjoyed strong theatrical and DVD performances; widened distribution of its television product across broadcast, cable and satellite networks and was the first studio to put movies online in the UK.

"With the business ever-changing and ever more challenging, I look forward to continuing and expanding my role for the company that has been my home for the past 17 years," Berger says.
