Twenty budding young filmmakers from East London took part in a series of workshops led by award winning Romanian film-makers - the result is a short documentary about their experiences, which will screen at the East End Film Festival.

For the past three months 20 disadvantaged young people living in London’s Olympic boroughs have beeen taking part in a series of workshops led by award-winning Romanian filmmakers including director Radu Muntean, scriptwriter Alexandru Baciu, editor Catalin Cristutiu and actress Anamaria Marinca, as part of a new initiative organised by the Romanian Cultural Insitute and the Four Corners centre for film and photography - East Meets East.

Now the group are back with a short documentary about their experiences during the workshop, which includes interviews with the Romanian mentors and will screen during the East End Film Festival.

The initiative is part of the Romanian Cultural Institute’s bid to forge stronger cultural links between London and Romania.

The East Meets East project will screen at the Rich Mix cinema on July 6, and will be attended by all the young film-makers.
