The Hinduja Group, one of the oldest overseas distributors of Bollywood films, has announced plans to set up a Hollywood-style studio enterprise in Mumbai. Their Indian film production and distribution venture 'In Network' company will produce 15 - 20 features a year.

The Hinduja group has already entered film financing by earmarking a $5m fund, being routed through Aasia Industrial Technologies, a subsidiary of Hinduja TMT, the holding company of the group's new economy initiative.

In Network already has six films in various stages of production. The company's international headquarters will be in Geneva and will also finance international product.

In Network already has a cable distribution outlet in major Indian cities like Mumbai and Delhi and has acquired a library of 1500 Hindi films. Though The Hinduja group has been associated with the Indian Film distribution business since the 1950s it is now joining a long list of Indian corporations including Tata and Sahara in launching itself as n Indian movie production entity.
