Spanish sales consortium Latido has seen brisk sales onSpanish box office hit The World's Longest Penalty.

The company sold rights on the comedy to Italy (Blue Moon),Greece (Prooptiki), Portugal (Eco Filmes) and Thailand (Logo), and wasunderstood to be closing rights for an English-language remake as well.

Penalty (El Penalti Mas Largo Del Mundo) has earned more than Euros 6m at the Spanish boxoffice and is the top ranking local release this year. Alta Films distributedthe Tornasol Films-Ensueno Films co-production in Spain.

Latido general manager Massimo Saidel said his Cannespick-up, Viva Cuba, which had offers onthe table in various European countries by market's end, has been invitedto screen in both Locarno and Montreal.

Saidel also closed a multi-title package deal toGreece's Medial for theatrical and DVD/video rights to Viva Cuba, Gerardo Herrero's Heroine, newly-shot Rosa De Francia and MiguelLittin's Palestine-set The Last Moon.
