Scott Neeson, former executive vice president of international marketing at 20th Century Fox, has been appointed president of 20th Century Fox International Theatrical, taking over from his former boss Jim Gianopulos who was upped to chairman of the studio last month.

He will oversee the international theatrical marketing and distribution of all Fox films together with those distributed by Fox on behalf of Lucasfilm, MGM and Intertainment as well as acquired and co-produced projects.

Neeson joined Fox in 1989 as managing director of Hoyts Fox Columbia TriStar Films in Australia. He moved to Los Angeles as vice president of international marketing in 1993 and has overseen the international marketing campaigns on films including Titanic, Independence Day and Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace.
