Moviehouse sings with Romeo and Juliet

Moviehouse Entertainment has picked up director Tim van Dammen’s pop rock opera version of Romeo and Juliet.

Shot in New Zealand and backed by the New Zealand Film Commission and private equity, Romeo and Juliet: A Love Song is set in a trailer park, with Shakespeare’s text set to rock, rap and pop music.

Producers are Michael O’Neill, Peter van der Fluit, Alastair Carruthers, Tim van Dammen, Simon Lake and The Lord of the Rings editor Jamie Selkirk.
