Film Movement has acquired Canadian feature Nurse.Fighter.Boy for a North American cable video-on-demand premiere this summer and DVD release in the autumn.

The feature directing debut of veteran Canadian actor Charles Officer, the film is an urban love story about a single mother, her son and a past-his-prime boxer. It was nominated for 10 Genies, won the Audience Prize and Jury Prize for Best Feature Film at the Mannheim Heidelberg festival and screened at the Toronto and Karlovy Vary festivals.

The deal was negotiated by Film Movement’s president Adley Gartenstein and vice president of acquisitions and distribution Rebeca Conget with Sebastien Chesneau of Rezo.
