Jinga Films has closed deals on several territories for The Canal.

Ivan Kavanagh’s psychological horror has been acquired for Benelux (A-Film), Singapore and Taiwan (Festive Films), and Malaysia and China (Yellow Brick Pictures).

The Irish/UK co-production premiered at Tribeca and centres on a film archivist driven insane by old newsreel footage which reveals his home was the scene of a brutal murder.

It will be distributed in North America by The Orchard under its Shock Till You Drop label. XYZ Films brokered the deal and also sold the Middle East to Falcon Films.

The Canal will receive its market premiere tomorrow [May 19].
