Distribution veteran Peter Taylor has been appointed as a trustee of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF), the UK charity body which represents the interests of the film and television industry.

Taylor is currently the managing director of Sony Pictures Releasing where he has overseen the releases of titles including Casino Royale and The Social Network.

Prior to joining Sony in 2006, he was managing director at Warner Bros UK where he handled the releases of Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. He previously held the position of director of distribution at Columbia Pictures.

Taylor joins 16 other trustees of the CTBF, including Trevor Green and Barry Jenkins.
