Nigel Osner plans an Aug 11 start of shoot in Swansea and Gower for his film The Tale Of The Reverend Jones. Osner also wrote the screenplay, about a Welsh vicar who takes on the Church of England over its views on homosexuality.

Jakob Esposito of Welsh Dragon Pictures will executive produce. The low-budget production is privately funded by Welsh Dragon Pictures and Scarlet Cherub Productions.

Osner said: 'Owing to the film subject matter it had been simultaneously in demand by film producers but shunned by the church. I've been persuaded to film here, in Swansea, for several reasons including the beautiful locations and the fact its the home town of the Archbishop of Canterbury.'

Osner himself takes the lead role of Reverend Jones.

Magwill will handle sales; the film is set for delivery in the first half of 2009.
