Bill Pullman has joined the cast of Thomas Vinterberg's Dear Wendy, which is based on a script by Lars Von Trier.

The thriller, which started shooting on Sept 26 in Copenhagen, stars Jamie Bell, Chris Owen, Mark Webber and Michael Angarano, Danso Gordon and Alison Pill.

The film is being shot on the biggest outdoor set ever built in Denmark as well as in mines in Nordrehein Westphalen in Germany.

Set in a small mining town in the US mid-west, Dear Wendy is the story of young Dick (Bell) who is drawn to a revolver despite his pacifist views. He names it Wendy and gathers a group of outsiders around him with the same pacifist infatuation with guns. According to their own rules, they must never use the guns unless underground in the mines, but rules, of course, get broken.

Pullman (Lost Highway, Independence Day) plays the sheriff.

Dear Wendy is produced by Sisse Graum Olsen (Wilbur Wants To Kill Himself) in a joint venture between Zentropa and Nimbus Film called Lucky Punch.
