I think the statistics and points brought up here are very important. The movie industry is losing a significant amount of money from pirated movies and websites that host them. It is important to preserve the copyright and ownership of the companies that created the product. Movies take years of products and some movies have incredible budgets and big production values. You may argue that pirating the films may not hurt these big companies or actors. However, think of all the names that go into those credits at the end of the film. All of those folks have to get paid and compensated for their work. The pirating craze is hurting those that are behind the scenes working on these films.
