Roger Morris is due to take up the role of managing director at Elstree Studios in January 2009.

Morris previously worked as managing director of Visions Studios, Teddington Studios and Television for Pinewood and Shepperton.

Commenting on his appointment Roger Morris told ScreenDaily 'I'm lookingforward to making Elstree a studio for today. I want to embrace new technologies in the film industry and to clawback a lot of the work that has been lost to Central Europe.'

For the past 10 months studios consultant Jeremy Pelzer has been running the site.

Cllr Morris Bright, Chairman of the Studios' board, said 'Elstree Studios has been synonymous with filmmaking, television and media production for the best part of a century and we are confident Mr Morris will be a strong leader who will be able to develop and grow the business further.'
