The US premiere of Dreaming The Quiet Man and The Swell Season are among the line-up at the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival, set to run from Sept 30-Oct 2.

John Michael McDonagh’s festival hit The Guard is the opening night screening and the film’s Fionnula Flanagan will be honoured for her career. Her credits include The Others, Waking Ned Devine and Some Mother’s Son.

“We are also delighted that this year The Los Angeles Irish Film Festival was asked to participate in Culture Ireland’s Imagine Ireland, a programme that was launched as a celebration of the Irish imagination this year by the Irish Government in the belief that arts and culture are vital to Ireland’s recovery and the relationship between our two countries,” festival director Lisa McLaughlin said.
