In what stands as one of the rare times Italian films are pre-sold to international distributors, Rome sales agent Adriana Chiesa Enterprises (ACE) has already found a host of buyers for Bread And Tulips director Silvio Soldini's new comedy, Agata And The Storm, and Dario Argento's upcoming thriller, The CardPlayer.

Agata And The Storm which is currently in production, has already been sold to Germany (Tobis), Brazil (Circuito Cinearte), Greece (PVC), Israel (Shapira Films) and Benelux. Marking a return to comedy after Soldini's sleeper hit Bread And Tulips and his dark Burning In The Wind, the film is co-produced by Rai Cinema and Milan outfit Albachiara.

Written by Soldini and regular writing partner Doriana Leondeff, the film stars Bread And Tulips's Licia Maglietta as a woman who finds out that her brother, Gustavo, isn't really her brother. She follows him to a small strange town where Romeo, Gustavo's real brother, lives.

ACE head Adriana Chiesa has also pre-sold cult horrormeister Dario Argento's new film, The CardPlayer, to the UK (Arrow Films), Benelux (Dutch Film Works), Greece, Germany, Korea and Thailand. Backed by Medusa Film, The CardPlayer stars Stefania Rocca (Casomai) and Liam Cunningham in a thriller about a man who kidnapps an American tourist in Rome.
