Pedro Almodovar is confirmed to present Woody Allen with theDonostia Award on Friday night at the inaugural ceremony of the San SebastianInternational Film Festival (Sept 17-25).

Allen's new comedy Melinda& Melinda opens the festival, and the director will hold a pressconference earlier in the day.

Also at the inaugural ceremony, UK film critic Derek Malcolmwill present the FIPRESCI prize for Jean-Luc Godard's Notre Musique to Ruth Waldburger, the filmmaker's long-timeproducer.

It will be a star-studded opening weekend as - in additionto the many talents accompanying official competition entries - Oliver Stonetravels to the coastal town to present his new Spain-produced documentary LookingFor Fidel.

Buena Vista International has confirmed that M. NightShyamalan and actress Bryce Dallas Howard will attend a special screening of The Village on Saturday.

In the Latin Horizons section, among others,actress-director Maria de Medeiros will present her entertaining documentaryabout filmmakers and critics, JeT'Aime... Moi Non Plus, and actors John Leguizamo and Leonor Watling willpresent Cronicas with directorSebastian Cordero.

Finally, the festival has announced that on Thursday (23rd)Fernando Trueba will screen his new documentary about Brazilian music, El Milagro De Candeal. The screening,proceeds from which will be donated to a Brazilian children's charity, will beaccompanied by a live concert by Carlinhos Brown, Bebo Valdes and othermusicians.
