Crevasse Films has attached Los Angeles-based German director Anna J Foerster to its new action thriller Secret Hunter.

Screenwriter Adam Preston is adapting the script based on British explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes' novel. The story is about an American ice climber and games designer who witnesses the murder of his father and travels to Antarctica to find out the truth of his father's history.

Stephen Evans of Brittania is executive producing.

Foerster has been a DoP and visual effects specialist who has worked as second unit director for Roland Emmerich's The Day After Tomorrow and 10,000 BC. She recently directed her first feature Under The Same Sky.

Producers are Francine Heywood and Laura Giles for Crevasse. They said: 'We are thrilled to have Anna on board as she brings a unique vision to the project which we believe will be compelling for both audiences and investors.'

The project will shoot in 2009 and is looking for finance now.
