Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment has picked up North American and Latin American rights in all media on The Twins Effect, the made-in-Hong Kong martial arts vampire picture sold by sales newcomer Arclight Films.

The Twins Effect is directed by Dante Lam and features Hong Kong teen singing sensations Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, with Ekin Cheng and an extended guest appearance by superstar Jackie Chan.

The deal was conducted through the Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment (CTSHE) division and announced by Gary Hirsch, senior vice president, business affairs at Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, and Gary Hamilton, managing director of Sydney-based Arclight.

Arclight, which last year took over sales duties from the film's Hong Kong producer Emperor Multimedia Group, has also racked up key international licence agreements. Comstock bought rights in Japan, Deal Entertainment took France. Other deals also struck include Cedarland for the Middle East, Audio Visual for Greece, MPA for Brazil and Portugal and Central Partnership for the CIS.
