The fifth annual Films In Progress initiative kicks off March 25-26 at the 16th annual Toulouse Latin American Film Festival (March 19-28).
The joint initiative with Spain's San Sebastian International Film Festival aims to attach financiers to Latin American films stuck in post-production. Some 42 films from 11 countries were submitted this year and, as in previous years, the chosen list has a strong Argentinian flavor.
The titles are:
Alma Mater, by Alvaro Buela (Uruguay)
Iluminados Por El Fuego, by Tristan Bauer (Argentina)
Parapalos, by Ana Poliak (Argentina)
Proxima Salida, by Nicolas Tuozzo (Argentina)
Fugaz, by Victor Dinenzon (Argentina) (new version)
Suspiros Del Corazon by Enrique Gabriel (Spain-Argentina) (first complete cut)
The festival will also pay tribute this year to Spanish producer-distributor Wanda Films, one of Spain's most active co-producers with Latin America including on past Films In Progress titles such as Carlos Sorin's festival hit Minimal Stories (Historias Minimas).
