London-based Arts Alliance Media has expanded into the US with the acquisition of New York-based Hart Sharp Video.

Hart Sharp develops, acquires, markets and distributes films for home video, DVD and digital platforms. Past releases include Super Size Me!

The deal, announced by AAM CEO Howard Kiedaisch and Hart Sharp president Joe Amodei, creates a new company named Arts Alliance America. Amodei will be president of AAA, based in New York, reporting to London-based Kiedaisch.

The move gives AAM a North American base to work with US filmmakers and seek out content for its digital distribution network.

The deal was structured and negotiated by Robert Nathan of Cinetic Media who also provided advisory services to Hart Sharp Video during the sale process.

'I have known Joe and his team for over 10 years now and am really happy to announce Arts Alliance America with them on board,' Kiedaisch said.

With such a savvy and well-respected group of professionals, many great opportunities lie ahead for us as we take our digital home distribution business to new heights.'

Upcoming releases for the new company include The Tiger And The Snow, The Third Wave and Chalk.
