Spain'sSogepaq has unveiled the first sales concluded on its highly anticipatedfootball feature Real, The Movie to a slew of Asian territories.

Pony Canyon and Phantom Film picked up rights in Japan,while other distributors include Unikorea (Korea), Prime Pictures (Middle East)and Jiant Pictures (Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia).

The film,which made headlines around the world upon its Cannes unveiling and closed allthese deals based on a two-minute promo, has also sold to Provision for theformer Yugoslavia.

Sogepaqsays offers are on the table for other European territories and it has fieldedstrong interest in South America and the US.

Real, TheMovie (Real, La Pelicula) is directed by Borja Manso and co-produced by RealMadrid TV, Peliculas Pendelton and Huckleberry Films. The film shot on HD fornearly a year and has just entered post-production. Sogepaq will release thetitle, expected ready for a late summer delivery, in Spain.

The movierevolves around five fictional characters whose stories parallel those of RealMadrid players like Beckham, Ronaldo and Zidane. It is the official movie ofthe team and the first the mega-stars appear in.
