UK-based sales company Aspect Film Ltd has taken on worldwide rights to Tony Maylam's female assassin thriller Journal OfA Contract Killer.

The story is based on true events in the UK and Italy about an assassin who turns on her mafia bosses after her child is kidnapped. Justine Powell and Isabella Damiano star.

Aspect Film's managing director Hugh Edwards said: 'The film has already generated a lot of interest and praise internationally. Justine Powell delivers a powerful performance, as a mother dealing with the abduction of her daughter and out for revenge. She is definitely one to watch. Thanks in part to actor Marco Gambino's direct insight into the Italian mafia; Tony Maylam has crafted a mafia-based story which avoids the usual cliches, as seen in so many before it.

Director Maylam added: 'I'm delighted Aspect are handling the film. Their enthusiasm and belief is infectuous.'
