Beatrix Wesle'sAtrix Films and Solveig Langeland's Sola Media, which has a sales partnershipthat has handled Austria's Antares and German thriller Silentium, has taken onworldwide sales rights excluding Germany and France to Sundance award-winner ForestFor The Trees
Directed by Maren Ade, Forest For The Trees played at the Toronto International FilmFestival last year and won a special jury prize in the inaugural world cinemacompetition section at Sundance this year. It is currently on release inGermany through timebandits.
Remarkably, itis Ade's graduation film from Munich-based Academy Of Television And Film (HFF)which also spawned Academy Award-nominated documentary The Story Of TheWeeping Camel.
The film stars Eva Lobau (pictured in the film) as a young schoolteacher movingto a big city to take her first job whose inability to connect with co-workersand neighbours leads her into a spiral of loneliness.
Wesle and Langeland struckthe deal with HFF and the film's producer Janine Jackowski of Komlizen Film.They plan to premiere it to international buyers in the Cannes Market.
