Deals for Cineart, Lumiere and Wild Bunch Benelux.

There has been a flurry of acquisitions from some key Benelux buyers on Berlinale and Sundance titles.

Cineart has taken Wim Wenders 3D doc Pina from HanWay.

Increasingly aggressive Belgian buyer Lumiere has taken Margin Call from Myriad and Bye Bye Blondie from Wild Bunch.

Meanwhile, Pim Hermeling’s Wild Bunch Benelux has also been on a mini acquisition drive, taking on Lucy Walker’s Oscar nominated doc Waste
Land and Sebastian Pilote’s The Salesman (both from eOne) and Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur(from Protagonist).

Hermeling’s acquisitions all originated in Sundance. He told Screen: “It was a very good Sundance. All the films (there) are over-hyped but if you’re
there and watch the film yourself, you pretty much know what is going on. With these three films, I am pretty happy.”
