Australian-owned Beyond Films has picked up world rights on UK drama Conspiracy Of Silence.

Written and directed by John Deery, the Ireland-set film explores celibacy in the Catholic church and was produced by Flick Features, with backing from Little Wing Films and Mogirl Films.

Hugh Bonneville, John Lynch, Jonathan Forbes and Brenda Fricker star. Davina Stanley produces.

The rights were negotiated by London-based Hilary Davis, recently appointed Beyond's head of sales and acquisitions, and Little Wing Films' Piers Tempest.

"I am looking forward to representing such a fine film and am confident that Conspiracy Of Silence will be a major festival contender which will have a significant impact with buyers", said Davis in a statement.

Beyond is planning an international premiere in early 2003 for the film.
