The Bird Who Stops In The Air, by South Korean film-maker Jeon Soo-il, won the top prize at the 20th edition of the Fribourg International Film Festival in Fribourg, Switzerland (March 12-19).

Special mention went to Darkness And Light, by Taiwanese director Chang Tso-Chi, while the festival's international jury gave the award for best script to Pablo Trapero's festival favourite Crane World (Mundo Gua). The FIPRESCI international critics jury also gave its award to the Argentine picture.

The festival recorded more than 350 visitors from the film industry. Other sections included a retrospective of 25 key films from Arab cinema and a showcase for "resistance cinema" from South Korea. Many festival titles will now be presented on a tour of the country backed by the event.
