Tartan Films has appointed Blayze Collins-Perucchetti as its new head of acquisitions.

She replaces Jane Giles, who recently departed Tartan after four years to become head of content at the British Film Institute. Acquisitions were also previously under the eye of Laura De Casto, who left as managing director of Tartan US and UK in November 2007.

Collins-Perucchetti is here in Berlin on Tartan's behalf.

She had worked for the past two years for John Daly, producer of Platoon, at Film and Music Entertainment in Los Angeles. She held the post of domestic and international sales representative.

Prior to working with Daly, she worked in Momentum's UK home entertainment division.

Tartan Films group owner and chairman Hamish McAlpine said: 'We are delighted that someone of Blayze's caliber is joining us at this exciting new juncture in Tartan's plans for the future, her experience having been on both sides of the fence will be invaluable to us going forward.'

Tartan's upcoming releases include Mister Lonely, the English-language remake of Funny Games and P2.
