BlueBolt, the independent visual effects (VFX) post-production facility, has appointed former Moving Picture Company (MPC) chief David Jeffers as non-executive chairman.

The company, which was launched last September, has also revealed that it is currently working on John Landis’ comedy Burke & Hare and has already completed work on features including Warner Brothers’ Sherlock Holmes (pictured), Walt Disney Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time.

Jeffers, who was previously chief executive of MPC, the visual effects division of Technicolor, has come on board to drive the future growth of the company. He has 20 years experience in the effects and post-production industries.

Lucy Ainsworth-Taylor, BlueBolt company director, said: “David’s knowledge and understanding of the industry will prove invaluable as we develop and grow BlueBolt into a leading VFX business.”

The company was formed last autumn by producer Ainsworth-Taylor with Chas Jarrett and Angela Barson, VFX supervisors.
